Port Macquarie and Werribee Results

What an exciting weekend of racing! 10 athletes made the trip up to Port Macquarie for the Ironman, 4 of the juniors raced the Oceania Champs at Werribee and 2 guys tackled the Otway Classic ride.

The Port Mac crew delivered in spades. Congrats to Anthony Cooley and Tynan Coles for finishing their first ever full Ironman! This is a huge achievement and hopefully there are many more to come. A special mention however has to go to Kelly Miller. Kelly had an incredible race. She finished first in her age group by over 30mins, 2nd female age grouper overall and 6th female outright! This result has earned her a ticket to Kona to race in the World Champs later in the year. We are so proud and can’t wait to see how she goes against the best in the world.

The Oceania Junior Champs at Werribee had to be changed to a duathlon due to water quality. This didn’t stop our guys. Darcy Williams had an awesome race to come off the bike in the lead group and run a very quick 15:45 5km. This placed him 4th in Australia and 5th overall. In the Youth race Jackson Wright and Oliver Moxon raced hard from the front. Jackson took out the 2nd race with the fastest final run and both boys finished in the top 10 overall.

These results highlight the depth of our program. From the juniors being at the pointy end of the race in the Oceania Champs to Kelly qualifying for Kona and smashing her AG. The results across different distances and styles of racing are outstanding.
