Another ripping year at the Oceania Championships in Devonport. Jake Smith had a breakout race with three strong disciplines and recorded the 9th fastest 5km split of the day with a 16:14. This result is the aggregate of years of planning and execution in training. Jake is now poised to step into his final year of junior racing with a running weapon that should be feared by his competitors. Sunday’s 2XU Triathlon Series Race 4 in Sandringham was a great test for the athletes. The course was demanding with an extra long run up the hill into T1 that had everyone feeling the burn early and the wind made the bike leg even more challenging. It was a strong weekend of racing at the latest 2XU Triathlon Series race with a number of strong performances across the squad. It was a welcome return to racing for Mark who showed he hasn’t missed a beat, finishing 2nd place in his age group in a solid comeback performance. Another great weekend of racing from the crew at the 2XU Triathlon Series! Ty opened up the afterburners from the get go, swimming away from the elite field with a dominant swim/bike combo. Eventually Ty was run down in the middle section of the run, but we are satisfied with his execution and look forward to his run form coming in the new year.
