Results: 2XU Race 1 and Challenge Canberra

It was great to kick off the 2XU Triathlon Series at Elwood yesterday. Conditions were challenging and meant numbers were reduced across the field. Despite the choppy swim and strong winds on the bike we had some fantastic results including; 3 race wins, 4 podiums, 12 top 10’s and a shoutout to Darcy for collecting some prize money after taking second place in the elite category.

We also want to mention two schools, Bacchus Marsh Grammar and Williamstown High. We run tri programs at these schools and it was great to see they had a fantastic day at the event. Congrats to all the kids who raced!

It was also nice to be back racing in Canberra! The athletes and coaches really appreciated a genuine bike course with no drafting and heaps of climbing. There was no hiding on the bike in this race! Ifat had an awesome race in her first ever 70.3 collecting the bronze! Nick had a superb swim to lead the pro field out of the water in his first 70.3. Unfortunately Nick and Matt succumbed to injuries throughout the day and couldn’t finish the race.
